pH Electrode for Process Control and Monitoring HI1001
The HI1001 is a flow-thru monitoring pH electrode with BNC connection and 3 m cable that has been specifically built for industrial applications. This durable electrode is composed of a PVDF body with a protective PEI sleeve around the glass bulb for resistance against mechanical stress. This sensor provides a rapid response and high accuracy pH measurements for industrial applications.
- 1/2" NPT threads for in-line mounting
- PTFE junction
- BNC universal connector

The HI1001 uses a spherical bulb, PVDF body, and PTFE junction with polymer electrolyte.
Spherical Glass Tip
The spherical shaped tip design allows for a wide area of contact with the sample. This permits a faster electrode response with a higher degree of stability. The bulb is protected by a PEI sleeve that gives the electrode resistance against mechanical stress.
PVDF Body
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a plastic that is resistant to most chemicals and solvents. It has high abrasion resistance, mechanical strength, and resistance to ultraviolet and nuclear radiation. PVDF is also resistant to fungal growth.
PTFE Junction
This type of junction is often used on electrodes with polymer electrolytes. Porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a hydrophobic material that is available with different porosities that helps to minimize clogging. Because of its chemical advantages, PTFE is widely used in industrial applications.
Double Junction Reference
A double junction electrode has an internal compartment surrounding the reference wire. Silver ions are present in the polymer electrolyte of the internal compartment, which houses the Ag/AgCl reference wire; the electrolyte outside this compartment is silver-free. The double junction design means that virtually no silver from the electrode enters the sample. This design allows measurement in applications where silver ions in the sample are undesirable or silver precipitates on the junction are likely to form
BNC Connector
The HI1001 uses a BNC connector. This type of connector is universal in that it can be used on any pH meter that has the female BNC probe input.
External Thread
The ½” NPT thread of the HI1001 front end allows for in-line installation while the 3/4" threads on the back end (cable side) allows for submersion mounting.
